Jefferson County Pet Food Pantry 2013 Review

First of all I want to say that up until the last few months, our record keeping was atrocious! When you only have 2 people trying to cover an area as large as Jefferson County, racing to WalMart or the grocery store, meeting people in parking lots and then trying to remember how much food was given out, is NO easy task.  I’m sure we have given away much more food but, the numbers I am listing is what was documented.  Next year we will have a much better grasp on the numbers. It’s much easier when you have a facility and volunteers.

Dry Dog Food: 3,062 lbs
Canned Dog Food:  274 cans
Dry Cat Food: 570 lbs
Canned Cat Food: 386

We paid for 22 dogs and cats to be spayed and neutered, not counting all of the free pitbull and pit mixes we sent to Carol House as well as paying for gas money to and from (which we will no longer be able to do except for extremely hard luck cases).

We were able to pay for full vetting (shots, spay/neuter, test, rabies tags etc.) for Charles (our disabled veteran) as well as purchasing an electric fence, supplies and vacuum for him.

..and we have managed (with your kind donations) to house Chris and Sheba (our homeless man and dog) for the winter.

All in all it has been an amazing year for our little pantry and we couldn't have done it without the support of our friends and followers. Thanks to everyone for their continued support!!
