Helping a Disabled Veteran at Christmas.

Last week I was contacted by Abbey Candy who wanted to "adopt" one of our pantry members for Christmas. I immediately thought of Rich (who is a disabled Vietnam vet, with PTSD and has a very hard time). Even though tall in stature, Rich is one of the most kind, gentle people you would ever want to meet. He has 5 senior cats, a raccoon (not a pet, but will eat from his hands). What keeps him calm is feeding and watching the birds. We don't have bird seed, but thanks to Abbey for supplying that for him along with other necessities, it made this sweet man so very happy. Rich approved my posting his picture, along with volunteer Bill (in the Santa hat). It was very heartwarming. Thank you Abbey for doing this for Rich.
